The Ole and Aasne Kingland family
of Mt. Valley Township, Winnebago County. Iowa, has many connections to the Holtan and Tweeten families through Ole Kingland’s wife, Aasne Jorgensdatter Tveitane, the second wife of Ole Tostenson Kingland, and mother to 11 of the Kingland children.
Aasne was the sister of Bendick Tweeten, patriarch of the Mt. Valley Tweetens, and the niece of Margit (through her sister Sigri) and Hans Holtan of the Mt. Valley Holtans. Hans and Margit paid for their tickets to come to America and they were even called Holtans in the months that they lived with Hans and Margit upon their arrival in 1878.
