Holtan Reunion 2026

Holtan Reunion July 5-7, 2026

In July of 2026, we’re planning a big get-together for the descendants of Hans and Margit Holtan. For 3 days, we’ll tell stories, meet lost cousins, make music, visit important Holtan places, and learn who we really are.

Take a look at the Save-the-Date for the Holtan Reunion to see the basic plan for the Reunion.

It’s time to register for the Reunion.  The registration cost for July 6-7 goes up after April 1.  Register  here.

The Schedule is coming together nicely, and please join us in continuing to enrich this experience.

We’ve put together some choices for Lodging for the Holtan Reunion.  The closest are at Waldorf University or the two motels in Forest City.  Other motels are listed in nearby towns, with lots of choices in Clear Lake and Mason City.

We have a couple projects getting ready for the reunion.  One is a Holtan Heritage website, which you are on right now, which puts in one place, stories, photos and genealogy charts to assist any visitor ready access to important information about their families.  If you have Holtan stories and photos to share, contact Phil Holtan ([email protected]) to arrange to pass on your stories and photos.  More information in the following page.  A second project is with Ancestry.com, to fill in all the spaces in the file- Descendants of Hans and Margit Holtan, and there are well over a thousand of them.  Jerry Holtan ([email protected]) is taking the lead on this project and is contacting many branches of the family to get the most up-to-date information. We will have a public site on Ancestry but will protect your privacy by hiding information on any living persons.

Website and Ancestry Project for Descendants of Hans and Margit Holtan and of Sigrid Tveitane

We have expanded the scope of our descendants project by including the descendants of Margit’s sister, Sigrid Tarjeisdatter Nordgarden Tveitane.  That includes the Bendick Tweeten and Aasne Kingland descendants, so we have changed the name of the project and Ancestry file to Holtan Tweeten Kingland.

You should know who is putting this reunion together.  Here is the list of the steering committee, and the advisory committee.  We are people who believe in this project, in knowing and sharing our Family Heritage, and if you are interested, we’d be happy to add you to the advisory committee.  Contact [email protected] and let’s talk about how you can help.
